Jarry showed promise and is good at tracking the puck in traffic. Time will tell how he works out. I also expect Murray to have a better season. I think losing his dad had to be tough on him last year. |

Yea I think Murray will have a better year too. With him losing his father and being injured it just wasn't his season. His mind was on his dad(rightfully so) and I think he will have his best season yet. |

Jarry will be a back up nhl goalie at worse.
Best for us is if we can get Grubauer type deal. Jack Johnson Jarry for a 2nd round pick.
My guess Jarry is a solid nhl back-up/low end starter. A great thing to have if it means to paying your backup only 700k a year for a few years instead of a vet back up running around 2 million. |

There's no "message" being sent, Jarry's deal is two-way because he's still waiver eligible, while DeSmith is not. Simple as that.
Jarry was very, very good during his only year of being WBS' full-time goaltender, but those 45 starts are apparently not important because it was "half a season."
Judging him based on his first AHL year (pressed into duty because of Murray's call-ups) and last year (only 19 AHL starts) is dumb.

He lost his dad and injuries granted. But if he doesn’t “bounce back” pens are in trouble. He has noticeable deficits in his glove. He is bizarrely streaky. If the league has picked up on his weaknesses and he doesn’t fix em Uh oh. He is young. He could grow to be a top goalie. Or he could be Lightning in a bottle. |

Just for poops & giggles.
If you are at a party ('you' being a heterosexual male), & the women there outnumber the men 2/1, are you garaunteed some female company back at your place that night?
Or,
The party has equal number of men & women, are you going to get some 'punanna'? |

If all the men are like you then the % chance of success is low regardless of the men/women ratio. |

Are you saying
5 PP with zero goals
&
1 even strength goal in the same game
So in that game scoring even strength was easier than on the PP was wrong?
Plus, you didn't need to explain what a power play was I already know what that is!
You were a little fixated on scoring % not PP scoring % as well which wasn't mentioned in my comments.
Also, the PP% with Conor McDavid on it was correct give or take a .% or 2.
Let's just put this to bed, & say you can't respond to a comment correctly but can throw insults around just to try & be the man!
Plus I have to go back to work to bring in the bacon to get some punanni!! |

Which you have difficulty (great), in doing. Ask for an apple & get a lemon - no sorry that would be in the same category. Ask for an apple & get a doughnut. |

Aussie my man I like you but let's just rest this case. Rino is a tough customer around here when it gets to this stage of arguing.

Yes he's a real tough customer alright!
It's summer in the north, what else is there to discuss? Taxes were brought up not long ago, maybe the world wide trade embargos to certain countries might be a change of pace!
Or how about sophomore slumps? Which players are going to dive headlong into 1 of them?? Murray actually may have had 1 last season as that was his first real season (after 2 Cups - how crazy is that to say)? |

Jarry was drafted in 2013. Since that time I've kept hearing about how he was going to be the next franchise goalie of the Penguins. The hype hit peak ridiculousness with people saying the Pens should trade Murray after his first cup win because we had Jarry "waiting in the wings".
Granted the sample size is small but Jarry hasn't shown anything at the NHL level. Considering goalies peak in their late 20s the clock on Jarry is running out to even become a mainstay backup/entry level starter in the NHL.
I kind of wish the Pens had kept Filip Gustavsson and moved Jarry in the Brassard trade and getting some more salary retained. |
